Charleston Black Theatre looking for actors

The Charleston Black Theatre is seeking four actors for an upcoming stage reading on Feb. 17. at 6 p.m.

The following roles are needed:

  • Alexander Hamilton – white male (30ish)
  • Ona Judge – black female (20/30ish), playing a young girl
  • Venus – black female (20/30ish), playing a young girl
  • Margaret – black female (30-40ish), more mature
The roles are for the play “George Washington’s Boy,” and will be performed at West Ashley High School. The playwright is Ted Lange, who is best known for his role as “Isaac the Bartender” in the 70s TV series of “The Love Boat.” Mr. Lange plans to come to see the play and conduct a master class as a bonus for the actors who are interested in the being a part of this production.
Rehearsals will be Jan. 3, 17, 31, Feb. 10, and 16 at 6 p.m. each day. Actors will receive an honorarium for their participation.
