The mission of Palmetto State Arts Education (PSAE) is to advance learning in and through the arts for all students. For over 30 years, PSAE has worked to fulfill its mission by providing trusted resources and professional development for arts educators in the tri-county area. Four years ago, PSAE expanded its programming with the Rising Stars Piccolo Spoleto Series, a high profile performance opportunity for gifted young artists from all artistic disciplines (Creative Writing, Dance, Music, Theatre, and Visual Arts). Through the combined efforts of teacher support and student recognition, PSAE reaches thousand of students annually. PSAE is committed to the arts education community of Berkeley, Charleston, and Dorchester counties.
The Smalls Institute’s mission is to provide mobile music classroom instruction in piano, guitar, and percussion to “at-risk” students in grades K-12 residing in under-served, impoverished, Title I areas; providing outreach programs and services promoting youth leadership.
