A Backpack Journalist (“backpack”) refers to the successful journey through self- expression as “finding of one’s voice,”  believing that it is the key to developing one’s own confidence, and in getting to know yourself.  Serving youth from 9-17, we teach basics found in Photo Journalism as a foundation (Writing, Photography, Cowboy Poetry and Filmmaking) and incorporate world experiences in what we refer to as “Cover the Assignment”, whereby the TEAM creates a film or reports on an event. Presently Sarah Burns and David McMahon from Florentine Films are advisors to the program.
